Hiking In Lefkada

From the mountainous village of Eglouvi, at an altitude of 730m and from the main square, begins a paved cobble stone path that leads us to the trekking trail. After 30minutes we find ourselves in the plateau of Eglouvi, at Ag. Donatos at an altitude of 900m.

This is where the famous lentils of Eglouvi are harvested. There are wells that offer us their cold fresh water, tholons that are used until this day to gather the lentils and the Volti, ancient buildings full of unique beauty and architecture, thought to be from Homeric times. After spending time admiring the natural beauty and Lefkada town from above, we continue our excursion heading towards

the little church of Ag. Ilias, at an altitude of 1036m. From this point, there is a superb panoramic view of the whole island and of the surrounding islands. This view enchants even the most difficult of guests. We will then return through the paved cobble stone path, ending in the village of Eglouvi. After relaxing and enjoying the village’s square, we will return by car to Lefkada.
